About me

A textile designer, maker and artist excited by all things fibre, yarn and construction, working with traditional knotting and woven techniques to create bold, contemporary and three-dimensional forms.

I am driven by the exciting potential of combining multiple constructional methods and exploring the boundaries and freedoms associated with traditional hand-working processes.

This Final Major Project reimagines and reworks the traditional craft of macramé to produce a series of unconventional sculptural pieces.

The Berry knot technique is explored and used extensively to create distinctive organic forms that lend themselves to fashion accessories, vessels and interior items. These cultural textiles have the potential to be sold as art pieces and functional products in Jamaica and the wider Caribbean.
